West Point Thoroughbreds' first two-year-old winner of 2010, Moonstruck Maya makes her stakes debut on Sunday, July 11th in the $100,000 Landaluce Stakes at Hollywood Park. The bay daughter of Malibu Moon broke her maiden in impressive fashion on June 16th at Hollywood Park.

Trainer Carla Gaines says, "This is a very nice filly. She has been training tremendously in the mornings, and I think she will only improve off of her first race. Joel (Rosario) was very impressed with her first time out, and I envision big things for her."

Terry Finley, president of West Point Thoroughbreds says, "We bought this filly as a weanling. She was well balanced and professional even back then. She has developed into a very nice athlete. The sky is the limit."

The Landaluce Stakes is race 8 with a 4:35 PDT/7:35 EDT post time. Moonstruck Maya is number 3 of 8 with Joel Rosario back in the irons.

One race earlier, West Point sends out Mesa Thunder in an "a other than" allowance race.

Best of luck to both runners!
